One of the most interesting of the recent findings is that garlic increases the overall antioxidant levels of the body.
Diallyl disulfide is an organosulfur compound derived from garlic and a few other genus Allium plants. It is produced during the decomposition of allicin, which is released upon crushing garlic.
diallyl sulfide was as effective as 100 times as much of the antibiotics erythromycin and ciprofloxacin.

Q: I have been told that garlic is good for the heart. Is this true? How much garlic must a person take per day to avail of its health benefits? What are the other health benefits of garlic, if there are any? Are garlic supplements (pills and capsules) equally as effective as raw or cooked garlic?
